Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker
President, CSU Global
Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker champions workforce success through innovative and evidence-based education models. From her role as Chief Education & Operations Innovation Officer at the Colorado State University System, the federally-designated Land Grant for the State of Colorado, and following her time as a State of Colorado Recovery Officer for the Departments of Labor and Higher Education, she has stepped back in to lead CSU Global where she was its first president and CEO.
In her earlier roles, Becky employed strategic leadership strategies to drive operational, organizational, and student and business success through human development, technological advancement, and data-driven analysis, leading to a tangible return-on-investment for CSU Global learners. Her work is seen through the success of the University which does not receive State funding, as the nation’s first online, fully accredited, state, nonprofit university, where she led the development and execution of CSU Global alternative credit programs; organizational training; client-based outsourcing initiatives; creation of non-degree short programs for reskilling and upskilling; and innovative pathways into CSU Global degrees through partnerships with K-12 school districts and industry organizations. Her work has led to the degree and certificate completion of over 35,000 learners, all without the benefit of state financial support.
Becky holds a Ph.D. in Organization and Management with a specialization in Leadership; an MBA in Finance; a post-graduate certificate in marketing management; and a bachelor’s in economics. She is also the author of the book, Impacting the Future of Higher Education. She has been named one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Business by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce and one of the Five Higher Ed Leaders to Watch by Education Dive.
